SPARK Utilities awards Miahona with operation & maintenance services contract

Contract signed as part of efforts to provide tenants at SPARK with world-class utility services.

Partnership intends to elevate SPARK Utilities’ service offering to investors.

SPARK is the second industrial city in the Kingdom to own a fully integrated utility company that provides services for water, gas and electricity.

Abqaiq, 15 December 2022: Today, SPARK Utilities, a wholly owned subsidiary of King Salman Energy Park (SPARK) and the Kingdom’s third power producer and supplier, signed an operational & maintenance services contract with Miahona, a leading developer & operator of sustainable solutions in water and wastewater projects, to provide convenient and reliable utility services to tenants at SPARK. The agreement was signed by Eng. Ahmed Al Essa, CEO of SPARK Utilities and Eng. Awaadh Al Otaibi, CEO of Miahona during a ceremony that was attended by Eng. Saif Al-Qahtani, CEO of SPARK and Chairman of SPARK Utilities, and Einas Al Ashgar, board member and other board members. 

Through this partnership, Miahona will support SPARK Utilities with the operation and maintenance of wet utility services offered at SPARK, including potable water, wastewater, and irrigation systems. It will provide sustainable integrated water solutions according to global best practices, and in line with SPARK Utilities’ green business model.

SPARK Utilities is the third company in Saudi Arabia to have been awarded a license to distribute and sell power by the Water and Electricity Regulatory Authority (WERA). As a world-class utility operator, SPARK Utilities delivers seamless and reliable access to power, water, and gas services.
